Hello , As I write this, I am following the news closely, hoping for peace in Ukraine, and I am reminded of the importance of peace, respectful conflict resolution, and the incredible work that we all do in Collaborative Practice. I am so proud to be a part of the hard work that IACP is doing to support our members around the world who are experiencing this trauma and working with clients who have added layers of trauma on top of what we are all experiencing. We have seen such an increase in stress over the past two years with a global pandemic, a mental health crisis, and now the invasion of Ukraine. It leaves us all needing more self-care, more patience with each other, and more support for one another. IACP is doing our best to provide that support., If you missed our recent Town Hall Meeting – “Let’s Talk” Meet new Executive Director Michael C. Russell please take some time to view the recording to get to know our new Executive Director. Michael brings enthusiasm, passion, and strategic direction to IACP that is infectious. in the recording, Michael also teases some upcoming technologies, offerings, and innovations coming to IACP! I am excited to experience a week of connecting with my friends across the globe at the 2022 IACP Global Virtual Institute from March 28-31, 2022t! This is an amazing event that offers connection, fun, and education in a format that is accessible for all. My first program is about Trauma which is so timely in this world today. We have another exciting week coming soon. We are honored that IACP and its members have been invited to participate in United Nations-recognized World Creativity & Innovation Week (WCIW) & Day from April 15-21, 2022, with the theme of Collaboration. This is a United Nations-recognized week and day where Collaborative Professionals and their community will create celebration(s) to spread awareness of Collaborative Practice and how it achieves United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. I hope you and your practice group can join us in the celebration, sharing, and collaboration around this important week and theme. What an amazing way to publicize Collaborative Practice around the world! As additional support for collaborative practitioners and practice groups, and to strengthen the growth of local Collaborative communities, IACP is happy to continue to offer speakers to talk with your practice groups through our Speakers Bureau project. Local Practice groups can select from a wide range of topics. We hope you will take advantage of this wonderful and affordable opportunity to learn from and connect with some of the best thought leaders in our community and support your Practice Group’s success. I continue to hear wonderful news about the growing leadership skills of our current class of Leadership Academy participants. It will be an honor to celebrate with this graduating class at our 2022 Forum in Orlando, Florida October 27th to 30th. I hope you will join me as we Share the Collaborative Magic! 2022 continues to be an exciting year of transformation! I hope that more and more of you will be able to travel again and that we can be together in person at Forum, to hug, laugh, support, and learn from each other, and build momentum for the Collaborative work that we d!. It is indeed a small world after all, and we have much to celebrate together. Respectfully, Lori Gephart IACP Board President |
