I hope you are all well, healthy, and safe. This year has proven to be a challenging one for all of us, but as we learned to live with uncertainty and discomfort, we have also gained the opportunity to do things in a different and sometimes more accessible way. I am thinking in particular of the learning and training opportunities we have had, but also of the connections we have learned to maintain and develop from our homes thanks to technology. Registration for Forum is now open, and many of us are already registered! The Forum will spread through 10 days from October 19 to October 29, with PFIs, workshops, plenaries, dine-arounds, and a Saturday night party. No matter where you live, you will be able to attend workshops in a friendly time zone for you, and you will receive access to recordings of Forum workshops. This is an incredible opportunity to attend an international networking and educational event from your home with many other practitioners all over the world. I do encourage you to register now and to participate actively. It will be a great experience. As you may now, Forum has always been an important occasion to boost our fundraising, in particular, though our Count Me In! Campaign, through which we ask participants to donate the equivalent of a billable hour, whatever that amount is. This is not an easy year to ask for money, I know. But the importance of our mission remains crucial, even and maybe more in this moment of global crisis. Membership dues sustain just over half of IACP's budget. The rest comes from our donors' generosity, and I hope you will decide to join me in being one of them. To donate the equivalent of your billable hour to our Count Me In campaign, click HERE. While preparation for Forum is in the midst, our Board is also working on organizing next year's activities and work plans. We just met (see pic below), virtually, of course, and had a very productive meeting, discussing future plans, future committee charges, and future training opportunities. I really look forward to seeing you all virtually in October. The door is open!
Sincerely, Francesca King IACP Board President |
