As I write this, it is almost Thanksgiving in the U.S., a time when the community I live in pauses to reflect with gratitude. One thing that fills my heart is how thankful I am to be part of such an involved and engaged community. In a year that was difficult for all of us, last month’s Forum was a truly special event. So many of us came together to make it a success – dozens of trainers, countless volunteers, our host committee, interpretation partners, sponsors, and 570 participants from five continents. We learned together all week, and danced together on the weekend. 

Our IACP community understands that we can do more when we do it together, and the Forum is a shining example. I especially want to thank all of our donors. Together, we broke through our goals for the Count Me In campaign and the scholarship fund. When we pool our resources this way, we are able to do even more to support you as professionals, to spread the word about Collaborative, and to help new professionals enter the field.

For anyone who is now experiencing Forum FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out), I’m happy to say that we will soon be allowing post-Forum registration, which will give you access to all of our Forum workshop recordings. We will also have an option for practice groups to purchase access for all of their members. (As a reminder, Forum recordings are currently only available to those who registered for Forum.) Keep an eye on your email in early December for more information!

With the new year quickly approaching, I know we are all hoping for a safe re-opening of borders and a return to more normal life. Whatever the year brings, though, IACP will be here for our community, working to support you with more webinars and intensive trainings, introductory trainings for new practitioners, a new issue of the Collaborative Review, and opportunities to grow your practice. I am so excited about all that our committees and staff have created, and all they have planned for the coming year.

To my U.S. colleagues, who will be reading this after Thanksgiving, I hope you found connection and joy in the holiday. And for my colleagues around the world, I am sending wishes for peace and hope for the new year.

The Collaborative Review is the official publication of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. 

The Review features articles relating to the practice of Collaborative Law and Collaborative Divorce. 

It is published and delivered electronically on a semi-annual basis.

IACP members receive a free subscription to the Review. The next publication will be distributed in early December. 

Call for Submissions

The spring 2021 issue of the Collaborative Review will be a special edition focusing on matters of equity, inclusion, diversity and access in the Collaborative community.

We encourage authors from a wide range of backgrounds to submit articles interpreting this theme from many perspectives. Find information about the submission process is HERE, or email atm@collaborativepractice.com for more information.
 
Online Introductory Interdisciplinary Training
 

Whether you're looking for your first Collaborative Practice Training or would benefit from a refresher training in which both experienced and new members participate together, we encourage you to register for the next official IACP Introductory Interdisciplinary Collaborative Practice Training.

There is limited availability in the third cohort, which will begin on January 28 and end on February 12.

Building A Satisfying Collaborative Practice

In a two-day workshop, provided in partnership with Forrest "Woody" Mosten, you will learn a practical model for implementing client-centered Collaborative strategies into your profession.

You will also learn new ways to represent clients while staying out of court and explore the personal and ethical dimensions of Collaborative problem-solving. 

When: February 18th & 19th, 2021, from noon-3pm (PST).

Location: This course is being offered online in Zoom format. 

Registration: $250 for active IACP Members, $350 for non-members.

Training for Trainers: Build Your Practice
 

This course is available only to those who have completed "Building a Satisfying Collaborative Practice" either through a partnership with IACP or previously through Woody Mosten or one of his approved trainers. You will learn to present the "Building A Satisfying Collaborative Practice" training to new audiences.

Topics covered will include:

•Training strategies for adult learning

•Developing overall course learning objective and individual objectives for each model

•Sequencing modules to maximize different teaching modalities such as lecture, demonstration, group work, simulation, and discussion

•Developing and producing customized training materials at minimum cost to participants

•Marketing and operating a successful training

When: Tues. March 2- Fri. March 5, 2021, noon-3pm (PST).

Location: This course is being offered online in Zoom format.

Registration: $595 for IACP Members and $695 for others.

Spaces are limited, there will be an application process.

IACP is pleased to invite our global community to submit your proposals for IACP's monthly webinar series.

We are committed to providing the Collaborative Community with opportunities to enhance Collaborative skill sets.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and will be reviewed by the Online Education Committee in July and December 2020.

Your pitch is a thesis statement and your business model is the outline for how you prove your thesis.
