Kellie McConahay, a retired Collaborative lawyer, will how explore how practice groups can organize their own trainings with local experts, ensuring professionals have the tools they need to navigate addiction-related challenges effectively. Drawing from her experiences with the Minnesota Collaborative Group, Kellie will discuss her experiences working on cases involving alcohol and sex addiction, and how the connection with local experts enhanced their resolution.
Hugh O’Donnell, a Collaborative attorney and mediator from Missouri, will bring his perspective on understanding addiction within the collaborative process, emphasizing the need to avoid labels and approach these cases with compassion and expertise. Drawing from real-world experiences, he will discuss effective strategies for addressing addiction in a way that supports both the individuals struggling with it and the overall collaborative process.
