Conflicts and Bias: The Western Model of War and the Limits of the Law

The speakers will discuss their belief that in Italy there is a barrier in that keeps prevents effective, scientific study of negotiation. Institutional negotiation is not offered as a course in Italian universities. The barrier is rooted in culture and prejudice, which compels others to view conflict as a pathological rather than physiological occurrence. This bias stops people from understanding the possibilities of measures to resolve problems other than the law so they regard with an amateur approach the systems of the negotiated order (negotiation and mediation).
