Mônica Gama

Prior to setting up her own law office - Andrade Gama Advocacia, specialized in Family and Succession Law - Mônica has worked in many renowned firms and large companies, not only with Family Law - in which she is exclusively dedicated for more than 10 years - but also with another areas, such as Civil Law, Consumer Law and Corporate Law.

Graduated for about 25 years in Laws and in Psichology at the University of São Paulo, Mônica holds a specialization in Consumer Law at Escola Paulista da Magistratura (EPM) and in Family and Succession Law at Escola Paulista de Direito (EPD).

Mônica has also attended several courses in Conciliation and Mediation. In the last years, Mônica has been involved with a new practice – known as Collaborative Law, which stands for non-litigation and conflict resolution – mainly in family cases – by consensual ways, focusing on the family’s interests.

Nowadays, Monica has her own law office, by which she is helping families in its conflicts, in judicial and extrajudicial areas. Monica also participates on training classes and lectures in Family law, with focus on communicating the idea of conflict pacification, not only in the press, but also in the civil and legal communities in Brazil.

Within these latter functions, Mônica became the Founder Partner of the Brazilian Institute of Collaborative Practice, responsible for the spread of a new collaborative way of practicing law in Brazil. She is also a member of the Family Law Committees of the Lawyers of São Paulo Institute (IASP) and of the Brazilian Institute of Family Law (IBDFAM).
